Our Vows of Membership

When we take membership vows, both the new members and the congregation make a mutual commitment. The new members receive these elders as their own elders, and this congregation as their own spiritual family. In turn, the elders and congregation pledge to love, guide, and care for them as fellow members of Christ’s body. To be a member is therefore to share in both the responsibilities and the blessings of belonging to a local church.

Our membership vows serve to welcome new members into this covenant fellowship.

Membership Vows

  1. Do you believe in God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth?
  2. Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope except in His sovereign mercy?
  3. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
  4. Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?
  5. Do you promise to support the church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
  6. Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the church and promise to pursue its purity, unity, and peace?
